HOT CELEBRITIES: Piper Perabo rocks as Annie Walker in "Covert Affairs" new season

Annie Walker (Piper Perabo, Coyote Ugly) is a young CIA trainee who is thrust into the inner sanctum of the agency when she is unexpectedly promoted to field operative. While it appears that she has been plucked from obscurity for her exceptional linguistic skills, there may be something or someone from her past that her CIA bosses are really after.

Christopher Gorham (Ugly Betty) plays Auggie Anderson, a CIA military intelligence agent, blinded while on assignment, and Annie's guide in this world of bureaucracy, excitement and intrigue. Peter Gallagher (The O.C., American Beauty) plays Arthur, the formidable Director of Clandestine Services for the CIA. Anne Dudek (House, Mad Men) Annie’s older sister and Kari Matchett (Invasion) plays Joan, head of the CIA’s Domestic Protection Division who happens to be married to Arthur.

    Season 7 continues October 17, 2011

Last season's cliffhanger had our favorite quick-change artist surrendering to the FBI for the murder of Pilar Zuazo. We pick up the new season as she has just completed a three-year stint in Federal prison. She's now in New York, but no free bird - she must complete her probation in a strictly monitored halfway house, which means she'll have to deal before curfew. A now bolder Nancy has to re-start the business from scratch. Meanwhile, the boys - Andy (Justin Kirk), Silas (Hunter Parrish) and Shane (Alexander Gould) - who were camped out in Copenhagen - are now Big Apple-bound with Doug (Kevin Nealon) in tow, of course and will be stirring up major trouble.

The legendary Martin Short (Damages) headlines the guest star roster as an eccentric attorney in at least 3 episodes, while Aidan Quinn (Prime Suspect) will play a charismatic investment firm CEO in at least 4 episodes. Jennifer Jason Leigh returns for 4 episodes as Nancy's estranged sister Jill Price-Grey who has been watching Little Stevie while Nancy was incarcerated. Lindsay Sloane (Grosse Pointe) has signed on for 6 episodes as Maxeen, an eccentric conceptual artist who Andy (Kirk) meets at a gallery event, and noted actor David Clennon (Ghost Whisperer) will play her husband, Charles. Pablo Schreiber (Lights Out) will star as Demetri Ravitch, an army supply sergeant and brother of Nancy's former cellmate Zoya (guest star Olga Sosnovska), who begins to supply Nancy in her newest endeavor. And Gary Anthony Williams (Mad, The Boondocks) will play Ed Watson, Nancy's halfway house counselor.

    KING
    Sundays at 9

Follow King on Twitter and facebook!

As a Homicide Detective, Jessica King (Amy Price-Francis) sees things that everyone else misses: in crime scenes, in evidence, in the motivations and drives of the suspects. A fearless and imaginative lateral thinker, her unique eye for detail turns cases around. And she has a rare quality: Jess doesn’t need to be liked. That quality gets her into trouble.

Almost two years ago, the former Chief of Police sent Jess to the call centre - the Police Service equivalent of Siberia - for an act of gross insubordination. She went public about corruption on the Force. Some of her colleagues haven’t forgotten, let alone forgiven her. After the shuffle, Jess struggled to accept that the “career” part of things had run its course. She started thinking about something that she’d avoided for a long time. Family. A new life.

So, Jess dove into a third marriage with fellow officer and Guns and Gangs team member Detective Daniel Sless (Gabriel Hogan). Danny adores Jess. But their rigorous efforts to get pregnant haven’t panned out so far. And that’s putting a strain on things.

When Detective Sergeant Derek Spears (Alan Van Sprang) has a public, televised meltdown, Jessica King is called in to lead the Major Crimes Task Force (M.C.T.F.) – a police squad that is parachuted in to take over cases in crisis. Murder, rape, robbery, gang violence, serial and predatory crime – everything’s fair game.

The unit takes over cases already in progress and in crisis. A cop or the courts screw up, or another squad drops the ball and Jess and her team have to work fast, take big risks and probably piss some people off to get it back on track. Like Jess, the M.C.T.F. doesn’t have many boundaries.

Spears is less than gracious about the fact that King is now in charge of what was ‘his’ unit. He was a good cop once, very good, and he will be again. But, it’ll take Jessica King to help him get his mojo back. There's chemistry between them and Jess will be tempted - Spears is a lot like the guys she swore off years ago. Besides, she's determined to make her marriage with Danny work. Colleagues may resent her but King’s fierce intelligence, passion for her job, disarming honesty and wicked sense of humour overrides their doubts. King is a lateral, imaginative thinker whose rare eye for detail gives her a critical edge. And, she’s tough. King has survived eight years in Homicide, two marriages and multiple stab wounds. Off duty, King is a wife, a lover and a friend, who struggles with issues of infertility, intimacy and trust – and like most women, she can’t pass up a good shoe sale.

    L-WORD FINALE

Get ready for one long, hot goodbye. The groundbreaking Showtime Original Series, The L Word, returns for its final season – and the ladies are going out in style.

Be prepared for some wild turns and explosive surprises, as all the drama that’s been building for the last five years is coming to a climax. Kit, Tina, Bette, Alice, Shane, Helena, Tasha, Max and Jenny are turning up the heat for the season that will go down in history

    LUTHER

A brilliant detective tormented by the darker side of humanity, Luther shines a light where others fear to tread, into the hearts and minds of psychopaths and killers, and the shadowy spaces of his own soul…

Starring Idris Elba (The Wire), Luther is a gripping, smart and entertaining psychological thriller driven by an intellectually brilliant but emotionally impulsive cop. For Luther, his profession is a vocation rather than a job. He serves his own idea of a moral order as much as rules and codes of criminal law. Throughout the series we see Luther face a succession of psychological duels between hunter and hunted, predator and prey.

We encounter his capacity for violence as well as his kindness; his sudden vulnerability and dizzying, visionary mind; why his wife left him for another man, and why his colleagues are frequently left open-mouthed in awe.

    CALIFORNICATION

Famed novelist & NYC transplant Hank Moody relocated to L.A. after his acclaimed book was optioned, only to be disappointed when it later becomes a crappy romantic comedy. Since then, he's struggled to get his career back on track and raise his young daughter, all while pining for his ex-girlfriend.

It may sound desperate, but he enjoys life and owns all his various vices -drink, drugs and women - with a refreshing sense of honesty and unapologetic candor. He's holding it together while falling apart, and he doesn't mind it one bit.
