ROGERS CUP MEN SEMIFINAL: Novak Djokovic is winning is countrymate Janko Tipsarevic 6-4, 4-1 partial

semifinals of the Rogers Cup. Both players have displayed some awesome form coming into this match as this encounter promises to be an enthralling one.
World No.2 Novak Djokovic locks horns with fellow Davis Cup team mate Janko Tipsarevic for a place in the finals of the Rogers Cup. Djokovic came into this tournament as the defending champion and would be hoping to lift the title for a third time.
Djokovic is aiming to lift his third title this year after the Australian Open and the Sony Ericsson Open and would be hoping to regain his World No.1 ranking. After a slow start to the year, Djokovic has failed to repeat his performances of last year and has suffered a bit with respect to the points. With a win-loss record of 48-9, the Serb has fallen short to other 3 in the big 4 on several occasions. His road till the semi-finals was only hampered by Haas, who took him to three sets in the quarter-finals. Also with 4 out of the Top-5 missing, Djokovic’s chances of defending his title have become stronger.
Tipsarevic comes into this match with a title to his name in 2012 and a win-loss record of 44-16. Tipsarevic has been a really consistent performer in 2012 and has managed reaching the business ends of most of the tournaments he has played this year. With a great will to win matches and the strokes to match the best, Tipsarevic was probably the best man to feature in the semi-finals after the big guns dropped out. But no taking away his credit as he has played some really fascinating tennis till the semis and is yet to drop a set in the tournament.
The two Serbs have met 6 times previously with Djokovic holding a compact 4-2 lead. Though their last meeting was by Tipsarevic this year at the Madrid Masters, Djokovic still comes in as a favorite to win this match.
