Lionel Messi is assembling a vast squad of players from the Premier League and afar to take part in a trio of charity matches for his foundation.
Former Chelsea forward Florent Malouda, who is currently a free agent following a campaign in the reserves at the Blues, joins stars such as Sergio Aguero, Edinson Cavani and Thierry Henry for ‘Lionel Messi and Friends’ matches being held over the next fortnight in Columbia, Peru and Chicago.
All proceeds from the fixtures will go directly to the foundation, which works to build a better future for children and adolescents internationally.

The first match tomorrow in Medellin, Columbia, will also feature the likes of Javier Mascherano, Robinho, James Rodriguez, Mario Yepes, Martin Demichelis, Pablo Aimar, Daniel Osvaldo, Marek Hamsik, Paolo Cannavaro, Eric Abidal, Julio Baptista, Diego Lugano, David Luiz, Alex Song, Carlos Bocanegra and Cesc Fabregas in the 36-man squad.
Florent Malouda is evidently delighted at being selected to play, “The games will not only bring together some of the greatest talents still playing the game but will also raise funds for a very worthy cause,” he said.

So out of these greatest talents - who would Messi hand pick if he has the final say for his Leo X1?
JAVIER MASCHERANO: As team mates for both Argentina and Barcelona, the versatile midfielder would be a certain pick for Messi.

Certainty: Team-mates both at club level and internationally, Mascherano (right) would be one of Messi's first picks
DAVID LUIZ: To stop any allegations of Barcelona or Argentina bias, Messi could opt for the flamboyant ‘playstation player’ David Luiz. He’ll certainly display a few tricks to entertain the crowds but can also fire in a goal or two.

Hair-raiser: Chelsea's David Luiz can score from distance
ERIC ABIDAL: Having recently been released by Barcelona, the world’s finest player could go with former team mate Abidal, who is available to play having recovered from a liver transplant.

Released: Frenchman Eric Abidal left Barcelona this summer after six trophy-laden years with the club
SERGIO AGUERO:  Another Argentinian is in the mix as the nippy Aguero could team up perfectly upfront to score a bundle of goals for the crowd to enjoy.

Close: Messi and Aguero are good friends
EDINSON CAVANI: The Chelsea and Manchester City target is currently one of the hottest properties in world football and appears to be on his way out of Napoli. Who wouldn’t want this man in their line-up?

Wanted: Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid are all interested in securing Cavani's services this summer
