Former English Premier League star signs on to coach League1 Ontario team: Peruvian Nolberto Solano, for Internacional de Toronto




Last week the Ontario Soccer Association announced the 10 organizations accepted into the inaugural season of League1 Ontario, the province’s semi-professional men’s league. This week, news has begun to trickle out on the level of coaching that is attached to the new standards based league.
Nolberto "Nobby" Solano, a Newcastle United legend and former English Premiership player, has agreed to terms with League1 side Internacional de Toronto to become its first head coach. Solano, who first coached in England, was last in charge of the Peruvian Primera Division club Universitario de Deportes.
Sure to a be a star in Ontario's passionate Latin community, Solano will arrive in Toronto on April 22 to take charge of his new team and start preparing for their May 31 kickoff.

The Ontario Cup Draw results are in
The highly anticipated Ontario Cup Draw was completed Monday at The Soccer Centre in Vaughan. The draw determined when and where all 473 registered teams will be playing this summer. The competitions open the last weekend of May, as teams begin their quest for the coveted Ontario Cup trophy.
As well, the deadline for the Masters/Classics Provincial Championship entry deadline is May 1.
