ONTARIO SOCCER ASSOCIATION: Female Mentorship Program accepting applications

The OSA aims to increase the number of active elite female coaches on an annual basis, and to create an improved female coaching culture in Ontario.  The OSA is currently seeking applications for eight mentee coaches.  Coaches must be working towards their Provincial B and National B coaching licenses, and they will be selected based on their experience, potential, and the recommendations supporting their application.

The Ontario Soccer Association is committed to supporting and developing female coaches in Ontario. The first two years of the Female Mentorship Program were a resounding success and the OSA is keeping the momentum going in year three. The Female Mentorship Program is designed to train senior female coaches, who in turn will act as educators and mentors to other female coaches who wish to further develop and progress their coaching careers.
The mentorship program is part of a holistic support system approach to enabling promising coaches across the province to reach their full coaching potential in the sport.
The OSA is aiming to increase the number of active elite female coaches and to create an improved female coaching culture. Annually the OSA seeks applications for eight Mentee Coaches. The mentee coaches must be working toward the Provincial B and National B coaching licenses. The eight coaches will be selected based on their experience, potential, and the recommendations supporting their application.
The selected applicants will be developed in the OSA mentoring program under the guidance of the Female Head Mentor coach.
Successful candidates will be required to commit to a 9-month program on a volunteer basis. These coaches will eventually be able to step into a coaching leadership role as they attain their Provincial B or National B license.
Mentee Coach commitments include:

  • Observation will occur at OPDL games and/or Provincial C License and Provincial B course
