Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s engagement announced and how does Buckingham Palace make their royal wedding statements?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now officially engaged
Prince Harry is due to marry the American actress in Spring 2018. Here's how the news was announced...

How was the royal engagement announced?

Harry and Meghan's engagement was announced on Twitter on Monday November 27.
The tweet came from the Clarence House account.
Clarence House is the London residence of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, meaning the announcement was made on the behalf of Harry's dad.
It reads: "His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms Meghan Markle and engaged to be married.
"The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.
"His Royal Highness and Ms Markle became engaged in London earlier this month...
"The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace."

How does Buckingham Palace make royal wedding statements?

November 27 marks seven years since Prince William and Kate Middleton's engagement was officially announced, and it was done in a very similar way.
Again, it was a morning announcement from Clarence House's Twitter account - around a month after the couple got engaged in Kenya.
Kate and William later announced the news themselves in a press conference at St James' Palace.

It was the first time the couple had done a joint interview, and the first time the world had heard Kate speak.
Harry and Meghan will take part in a photo call at Kensington Palace this afternoon, and a broadcast interview to be aired this evening.
