Soccer clubs, districts and associations across Canada are showing their support of the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™ through the purchase of Stadium Passports and Stadium Half Passes. After just over a week, more than 150 clubs have purchased tickets for next year's competition.
With matches to be played from coast to coast across the country, all Canadians have an opportunity to be a part of the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™. For the soccer community, it provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch the game's best footballers right here in Canada.
All clubs that purchase as a group will benefit from a cash-back incentive in recognition of their support of the event. Clubs can also inquire about participation in the competition's youth programme. For more information, please visit FIFA.com/Canada2015/grouptickets.
The first phase of ticket sales for the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™ runs 10 September through 5 December 2014, all in advance of the Official Draw. A second phase also featuring Stadium Passports and Stadium Half Passes will commence on 6 December after the Official Draw when the schedule and venues become known for all 24 participating nations,The third phase featuring individual tickets will launch in the first quarter of 2015 while the fourth phase featuring on-site ticketing box offices will launch in the month before the competition kicks off on 6 June 2015.

New guidelines for women’s football development programmes released as FIFA doubles funding
FIFA is set to double its development funding for women’s football for the next four-year cycle and has this month released the FIFA Women’s Football Development Programmes and Guidelines 2015-2018 as part of the preparations.
The guidelines provide all 209 member associations (MAs) with the necessary information to apply for and benefit from FIFA’s women’s football development programmes for 2015-2018.They have been developed based on feedback from member associations and confederations as well as players, coaches, referees and officials who participated in the 2011-2014 programmes.
In total, there are nine different types of programmes for MAs to choose from, focusing on four main areas of football development – competitions, management, education and promotion. This includes the Live Your Goals campaign launched in 2011 to inspire more young girls and women to get involved in football.
The new guidelines also outline FIFA’s ten key development principles for women’s football, which were defined by the FIFA Task Force for Women’s Football and approved by the 64th FIFA Congress on 11 June 2014. Additionally, MAs have another useful resource in the form of the new brochure Women’s Football: Progression, Rise and Challenges published recently on FIFA.com.
MAs can submit applications to the FIFA Development Office in their respective region on a yearly basis by mid-October. A standard budget request and financial report form have been created to ensure financial transparency – an important aspect for FIFA-funded programmes in line with the General Regulations for FIFA Development Programmes that came into force in July 2013.
FIFA expects and helps its member associations and the confederations to support and develop women’s football. A lot of progress has been made but there is much more work that can be done by the global football community to harness its true potential for growth."To a greater goal™"
Canada will host the FIFA Women's World Cup™ in 2015 from coast to coast across the country. The FIFA Women's World Cup is held every four years, with the next edition to be played in Canada in 2015. It marks the first major sporting event hosted in Canada from coast to coast, with matches to be played in: Vancouver, British Columbia; Edmonton, Alberta; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Ottawa, Ontario; Montréal, Québec; and Moncton, New Brunswick.
More than 125 countries will participate in the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™ starting with Qualifiers in April 2013. The final competition - to be played from 6 June to 5 July 2015 in Canada - will feature the 24 best women's football teams from around the world.
The FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™ is sure to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for this country with 52 matches from coast to coast across Canada. The competition hopes to draw 1.5 million spectators through ticket sales while attracting a worldwide television audience of more than half a billion viewers. The competition will also engage terrific impact for our cities and provinces, with an estimated cumulative economic impact of $267 million.
