Club History

The Toronto Central Soccer Club (TCSC) was created in 1974 in the central region of Toronto to promote and develop the game of soccer. Founded by Frank Espinoza, the Club wanted to give its members the opportunity to develop their character and confidence. Frank believed that soccer not only enhanced an individual's physical and mental state, but helped them to develop leadership skills that would enable them to become responsible members of their community.

The TCSC has developed into the largest women's soccer club in Toronto. It provides an environment that is challenging, supportive, safe and fun so that women of all levels can enjoy the game. Throughout the years the TCSC has received many awards from its governing bodies, including the Toronto Soccer Association and the Ontario Soccer Association, for its work in promoting the game of soccer.

The Board of Directors and its membership are deeply thankful for the endless work of Frank Espinoza in furthering women's soccer in Toronto. And it is in his memory, that we continue to promote women's soccer in Toronto.

TORONTO CENTRAL SOCCER LEAGUE: Toronto Flames and Genesis at the top

TORONTO, by Juan Carlos Cordero (UNO International News Service). Women's soccer in Canada is getting an amazing lift by the performances of our National Women's teams (ranked 6th in the FIFA World rankings), which was highlighted on the week end lost 2-1 against Germany, the host and current champions.

Close to home, we can enjoy the Ontario Women Soccer League (OWSL) and the Women District Soccer League (WDSL) with its division (Premier, First, Second), organizaed by the Toronto Soccer Association. I have coached a Premier Team, "Toronto Blue Devils", with many varsity players from the University of Toronto and other colleges and universities. Players such Andrea Magallanes, Maude Patry, Lynne Fox, Jennifer Imrie, Monika Cordero, Brandi Boulet, Katherine Schjott, Melodie Lumague, Amelie Messier, Vicky Berrow, Kendan Borgogelli, Andi Larocca, Claudia Bianchi and Anna Comerton, among others, were a mix of experience and youthful entusiasm, displeyed with high performance soccer skills.

At the Toronto Central Soccer League, now many years in the making, a league founded in 1974 by Ecuadorian professional soccer player, Frank Espinoza, Torontians have seen various generation of amazing players, continue now with the direction of Lynne Fox, Carolyn and Silvio Aguayo, entre otros.

Now, for example, there are many that played great soccer with fancy skills that you can see in the Thursday evening competitions at Eglinton Flats and Earlscourt park (the same venue for upcoming Brazil Fest 2011): a Costa Rican creative midfielder, Isabel who seem to have a brilliant mind, always thinking ahead and passing with precision behind defenders; fast Danielle Wedge, a soccer player and athlete too, that create a great tandem with # 22 J.Aucari; # 7 "Chai" Valente, a powerful and fast striker and Jamie, a #11 that creates chaos in rival defense; or one that I don't have her name, # 33, in the red Earlscourt team, only comparable with Toronto Flames star, Madison, a petite player but a giant player with an amazing field panoramic vision and able to play defense and midfield, with technical and tactical skills only comparable to those from Latin America, Brazil or Argentina. When her teammate, # 9 (Tanya?) is on the field, it is power soccer play for the Toronto Flames, team that already has gotten winning trophies and indoor and now is in the top of the Earscourt tournament with Genesis FC.

I don't have all the names at hand but in the Earscourt's blue team, we can highlight Michelle and Chantelle in the ream squad.
