Rihanna swaps River Island for reptiles on her latest magazine cover as she poses topless with snakes wrapped around her body.
The singer stares back at readers of British GQ on their 25th anniversary issue with slit-like pupils and a possessed gaze.
The provocative photographs, directed by Damien Hirst, sees her open mouthed with a visible tongue as a nest of snakes slither around her head.

The cover, shot by photographer Mariano Vivanco, also sees a large python snake rest around her neck as she covers her breasts with her arms.

Ahead of the magazine’s release, Rihanna tweeted about the provocative cover, referring to the shot as making her look like Greek goddess Medusa, a mythological monster who has snakes instead of hair.

The social media savvy singer posted another snap from the shoot captioned ‘I love playing with dominant animals! These 2 were double the trouble, but they're superstars!!! #snakez #GQ #RiRi #88babies #25thanniversary’.

The images comes just days after she posted pictures on her Instagram depicting her successful attempts at twerking by a pool in Greece.
The singer, who was visiting the southern European nation to shoot her final campaign for British high street chain River Island, also published snaps of herself lying back in a black two-piece.
The 25-year-old is currently globetrotting while taking part in her Diamonds World Tour and was in Israel the previous day.
She enjoyed some ‘me’ time ahead of her sold out Tel Aviv concert and immersed herself in the famous Dead Sea.
Rihanna will then perform in Puerto Rico and her native Barbados before returning to the United States, where her tour will wrap up next month.
The 25th anniversary special issue of British GQ is out on 31 October, priced £3.99. British GQ is also available on the iPad, Android and Kindle Fire.

After a slurred television interview on Monday, Jenna Jameson has reportedly cancelled all television appearances promoting her new novel, Sugar.
Sources close to the star told website TMZ, that Jenna broke-off plans to appear on a local news station on Thursday morning giving very 'little notice'.
The 39-year-old later made the decision to 'pull the plug on the rest of the interviews on her schedule.'

According to the website: 'Jenna felt the negative attention surrounding her previous interviews was overwhelming and she desperately needed a break.'
However the star hasn't abandoned all publicity as she still attended a book signing event at Barnes & Noble bookstore in Los Angeles on Friday.

The Las Vegas-born star showed off her pins in tiny black shorts and strappy heels, which she teamed with a stylish, bra-flashing lace T-shirt.
A spokesman for Jenna declined to comment when the MailOnline approached them following the recent reports.

What should one wear to sign copies of one's new book? A lace top and shorts of course! Well, that's if you're adult entertainer Jenna Jameson. We've got a feeling this blonde bombshell likes to show off her, erm, assets.

And although we aren't particularly taken by this outfit - the lace top might be a little too see-through to just wear a bra underneath - separately we think we might quite like the pieces.

Jenna's lace top, maybe with a camisole or bralette top under it, could actually be the basis of a lovely outfit. And the shorts, as shorts go, are quite chic, and with a shirt on top tucked in and blazer over that, would be a gorgeous going out outfit. The gold zip detail either side make them interesting.

A black lace top is a good piece to have in your wardrobe. It's a nod to the Gothic trend doing the rounds this season, but with a hint of elegance. This is just Jenna's way of expressing her inner fashionista, but you could try one that just features lace sleeves or with a built in slip underneath.

Obviously if you do like showing some more flesh, then try a lace top from the options below with just a bra, like Jenna.

TMZreported earlier in the week that Jenna's rep didn't believe sales of the book would be harmed by her unfortunate interviews.
The former adult entertainer has claimed that the slurring of her words was down to tiredness and nothing else.
While her publisher has apparently taken steps to ensure that she gets all the sleep she needs before any future interviews.

She appeared at a New York book signing on Tuesday where she was far more lucid while talking to reporters than she had seemed the previous day.
‘I was exhausted,’ she told TMZ when asked about her appearance on Good Morning New York, adding that it was a ‘very tiring’ day, and she is not taking prescription drugs.
There had been reports that Jenna’s interview was cut short as she was somewhat incoherent, but the blonde star has insisted on Tuesday that ‘it wasn’t’.

While Jenna was allegedly booked to appear on two segments of the morning show, TMZ reports her behaviour was so worrying that producers decided to cut her off after just a few minutes.
Things started off fine for the business mogul, who began by explaining that her book Sugar is autobiographical and insisted it is much raunchier than sadomasochistic tome 50 Shades of Grey.
‘It’s about me,’ she explained. ‘Well I didn’t want it to be exactly what I’ve always done so I made up a fantastic yummy story.’

However, Jenna – who has been accused of having an addiction to Oxycontin by her former boyfriend Tito Ortiz – appeared distracted during the brief interview.

She was repeatedly asked about her porn career and insisted she was happy with it denying she was ever abused like famous adult film actress Linda Lovelace was.
The mother of two said, ‘I was very young, 19. I just figured it would be fun and it was fun.
‘Listen, whatever she [Lovelace] had to say I seem to think that it was bull. I made my whole entire life was taken care of and I made a lot of money. I was always really good at being monogamous, while I was working.’

While she has recently launched a number of Twitter rants against Tito, who is the father of her twins boys Journey and Jess, Jenna insisted vaguely, ‘Everything’s going well, it’s going OK.’
However, pals of the porn star are said to be concerned for her welfare and have apparently tried to get her to go to rehab to get treated for her dependency on powerful painkiller Oxycontin, also know as hillbilly heroin.
A source close to Jenna told Popdust: 'Jenna is struggling with an addiction to Oxycontin.
'She is a complete mess right now and is barely holding it together. All of her friends have tried to talk her into going to rehab to get treatment but she is in complete denial about her problem.'
