HOT CELEBRITIES: The fountain of youth - Brooke Shields and Daryl Hannah look sensational as they show off their legs at The Hot Flashes premiere

We go in peace: Daryl and Brooke played around and flashed the peace sign on the arrivals line

Brooke Shields and Daryl Hannah are both pros at making a splash on the red carpet and did just that on Thursday.
Brooke looked fantastic at 48 as she strolled down the arrivals line at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film The Hot Flashes.
The actress cut a striking figure in a delicate off-white lace sheath that showed off her tanned, muscular arms and toned legs.

Her outfit got even better with a small reflecting clutch and a blue pedicure finished off with a strappy pair of neutral heels.
Brooke's straight hair shone radiantly as it cascaded over her shoulders and down her back.
A cluster of bangles on her left wrist and sparkly earrings made up the rest of her accessories.

Brooke's blonde contemporary, 52-year-old Daryl Hannah, rose to fame as the mermaid in 1984's Splash, but she made those intervening years disappear on this night.
Daryl was a knockout in her red number that clung loosely to her lean figure in all the right places.
Her mini-dress also gave her ample opportunity to show off her famously long legs.

Daryl added silvery T-strap heels, a dangling necklace and double chain bracelet.
She wore her light blonde hair in her usual wavy style with long layers.
The event also brought out the film's other stars including Virginia Madsen, who strutted her stuff in a sexy black frock with peek-a-boo cut-out in the cleavage.

The Hot Flashes is a comedy that follows a basketball team made up of middle-aged Texas women, all former high school champs, who challenge the current arrogant high school girls' state champs to a group of games to raise money for breast cancer prevention.
These little appreciated women go to comic extremes to prove themselves on and off the court, eventually becoming darlings of the media.
'I think [the audience] is going to connect on all levels,' Brooke told Entertainment Tonight about the film, which hits U.S. theatres on July 12.
'Women are going to connect; men are going to connect; people that have been touched by breast cancer; people that appreciate sports. I feel like it is across the board.'
