Canada Soccer confirms finalists for 2016 Futsal Canadian Championship: Toronto United Futsal and Quebec's Sparte FC

Canada Soccer has confirmed that the 2016 Futsal Canadian Championship will feature provincial winners from the recent Ontario Futsal Cup and Québec's PLFQ championship (Première Ligue de Futsal du Québec). The two-match Futsal Canadian Championship Grand Final will run 9-10 April, with Toronto United Futsal facing Sparte FC in Oshawa, Ontario.
Toronto United Futsal won their provincial title against Futsal Club Toronto over the weekend of 11-13 March in Vaughan, Ontario. Sparte FC, meanwhile, won their league title against Chaudière-Ouest over the weekend of 11-12 March in Trois-Rivières, Québec.
This will mark both club's first run at the Futsal Canadian Championship, the national competition inaugurated last year. At the 2015 Futsal Canadian Championship, Futsal Club Toronto won the two-match Grand Final by a combined score of 13-7 over Albiceleste.
Canada Soccer, in partnership with its members, promotes the growth and development of the game in Canada. Futsal provides another avenue through which the game can grow in communities across the country.
Already well established at the international stage, Canada participated in the first edition of the FIFA Futsal World Cup back in 1989. This year, Canada will participate at the 2016 CONCACAF Futsal Championship in May with hopes of qualifying for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Colombia 2016.
