Tras la confirmación del listado de artistas la noche del lunes, la evaluación es positiva: un cartel equilibrado y diversidad en los artistas nacionales marcan la edición 2014 como una de las más acertadas.

Sin embargo, la mirada de los expertos es positiva: tras la revelación del listado oficial de artistas, los entendidos en la material lo califican como un cartel equilibrado y mucha diversidad en la oferta de artistas chilenos, dejando a la nueva edición como una de las mejores.
Para el periodista experto en música, Felipe Arratia, "a pesar de las difultades que se hicieron públicas", considerando la filtración del cartel dias antes, "Lotus consiguió equilibrar los elementos para tener artistas que corten tickets como Soundgarden y Arcade Fire", analizó. "y lo segundo, artistas festivaleros no tan famosos pero que destacan, como Vampire Weekend. Ha sido una inteligente selección", concluye.
Para el periodista Manuel Maira, Lollapalooza Chile "ha ido consolidando un cartel sólido. En este cartel hay nombres arriba y en la línea media", evalúa. "La línea media fue super bien pensada: New order, Pixies, por ejemplo. Las clásicas leyendas de la música y por otro lado, los más nuevas como Vampire Weekend que están llamando la atención. Es una elección muy sólida y equilibrada. Me atrae mucho", señala.
Para el locutor radial Sergio 'Pirincho' Crárcamo, "hay que ver que no es un festival de rock, es como una feria musical a aire libre, donde hay todas las manifestaciones musicales: infantil, folclor, tropical. La gente sabe a qué atenerse".
EXPECTATIVAS
"Año tras año aumentan las dificultades, las expectativas no son las mismas que en la primera versión", reconoce Felipe Arratia.
Pero adicional a la oferta internacional, la selección de artistas chilenos también genera controversias. "El artista chileno después de cuatro años, entiende que uno se tiene que merecer ir, no es un relleno, no va cualquiera", analiza Arratia.
"Después de Lolla, artistas como Joe Vasconcellos por ejemplo, van a volver a ser reconocidos como consagrado, tendrán su noche de gloria", señala el locutor radial, Alfredo Lewin.
Cárcamo, sin embargo, manifietsa los reparos que se generan año tras año. "A diferencia de Nicole, que trae disco nuevo (Panal), el resto va a sonar mucho en el verano, las tocatas de Lucybell, de Joe. No es un enganche para Lolla".
Otra de las espectativas se centra en la convocatoria. "El año pasado marcó un record de asistencia probablemente gatillado por Pearl Jam más que nada. No se había visto tanta gente. Pero la gente esta comprando tickets para los dos dias porque es una experiencia", agrega Lewin.
LO BUENO Y LO MALO
La conclusión es general: Soundgarden y Arcade Fire se alzan como favoritos. "El mayor lleno de Lolla va a ser Soundgarden. Red Hot en tanto, ha venido muchas veces y no está en su mejor momento. Arcade Fire, si bien es un nombre en alza, el factor nostalgia en Chile es determinante", analiza Arratia.
"Soundgarden, que nunca hayan venido y que encabecen el cartel es muy acertado. Arcade Fire y NIN con un show en vivo muy sólido", rescata Maira.
Pero este último destaca una falencia: "Los artistas chilenos no han tenido los mismos privilegios, los mismos espacios de backstage. Se podría hacer algo y revisar eso: entender que para el artista chieno, el poder relacionare con artistas extranjeros sería una buena instancia de contactos y lazos", critica el experto.
Se confirma el cartel oficial de Lollapalooza Chile 2014
El line-up tiene como cabezas de cartel a Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails y Arcade Fire. Además entre las bandas que tocarán el 29 y 30 de marzo del próximo año están Pixies, Phoenix e Inti Illimani.

Además el evento contará con bandas como Pixies, Phoenix, New Order, Julian Casablancas, Johnny Marr, Francisca Valenzuela, Café Tacvba, The Wailers, AFI, Inti Illimani, Ana Tijoux, Lucybell, Jovanotti, Nicole, Joe Vasconcellos entre otros.

Assembling this distinguished line-up of acts for the debut of LOLLAPALOOZA CHILE was no easy feat. Says FARRELL, who will perform with both JANE’S ADDICTION and his electronic hybrid PERRYETTY, “The job we did to gather these artists for 2011 was remarkable. Imagine gathering 60 artists while the contract ink is still wet. We put it together at a record pace as we had four months. We did not want to come to Chile with a lineup that was anything other than world-class, and my partners Marc Geiger of WME and Charles Attal of C3 have been absolutely integral to Lollapalooza Chile launching in 2011. Our selections are very animated, with much diversity. There is Chilean talent in the mix. Now that the lineup is announced here, we are going back to Chile to work on the other aspects of the festival.” Adds FARRELL: “Our ambition is to plant a very strong seed in Chile. Perry Farrell:
Perry Farrell is one of the most influential and original musical figures in recent history. Dubbed as the "Godfather of Alternative Rock,” Farrell fronts Jane's Addiction which formed in 1985. Creating a new genre and musical movement, Farrell and Jane's Addiction changed the music scene and paved the way for bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and STP. In 1993, Perry created Porno for Pyros, a daring evolution to his diversity and growth. As well as being a groundbreaking musician, he is the creator and founder of Lollapalooza. Launched in 1991, SPIN magazine listed Lollapalooza as the #1 tour that changed the world. Known for its musical diversity, Lollapalooza was instrumental in exposing alternative music formats to the masses and establishing a sense of commonality across a fragmented demographic. The first of its kind, Lollapalooza quickly established itself as a lifestyle festival, pushing the envelope and exposing concert goers to a subculture of 'alternative' living and art, and provided a platform for numerous environmental and human-rights causes as well.
