WAKE UP & RISE UP!
…with Auresia’s latest music video and single RISING
MONTREAL, April 5, 2012 – Mixed by the renowned Roderick Shearer (Corey Hart, Planet Smashers, BranVan3000, Marjo), this urban-pop/reggae track takes you on a journey of self-reflection. RISING reveals a righteous message about the higher vibration of being genuine with one another. Delivering Auresia’s nuanced melodies and soulfully sweet vocals, RISING is the result of a dynamic collaboration between 5 production artists: Auresia herself, David Lines (Mongrels/A Devil's Din/Motherfunkers), Simon Wayland (DJ Guapo/Suns of Arqa), Kali Hayes Thurton (Kali & Dub Inc.) and Jonathan Gudstadt.
ABOUT THE VIDEO
Laden with interlacing fall and winter scenes of Montreal’s magnificent Mount Royal, the changing seasons reflect the powerful transformation possible when trust is placed in that inner voice which leads us to ‘rise’. Filmed and produced by Montreal’s SoundPics, the RISING music video captivates with contrasting autumn colours, a serene snowfall, and opaque reflections. In the foreground all along is Auresia’s entrancing gaze, brought forth by the brush of 3 accomplished make-up artists: Liz Furlong (who’s worked with Plants and Animals, Miss India, Lucy Devito), and Rorangina Orangina.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
In the 2 years since her first, self-titled album dropped, Auresia has been one of the busiest independent artists on the Canadian musical landscape, claiming a ‘Favourite World Artist’ nomination at the 2010 Independent Music Awards and 4 nominations at the 2009 Canadian Reggae Music Awards. With 2 cross-country tours behind her, dozens of festivals and hometown shows, Auresia has shared the stage with Ky-mani Marley, Sister Nancy, Tanya Stephens, Sugar Minott, Sanchez, Shaggy, Queen Ifrica, Tony Rebel, and Clinton Fearon.
Escaping the Canadian winter, Auresia is currently on tour across South America, gracing stages from Argentina to Colombia, including Brazil, until the end of April 2012.
STAY TUNED
Keep an eye out for Auresia’s upcoming sophomore album (tentative title RISIN’) set to be released in Summer 2012, including tracks produced by multi-platinum producers David Beatty (Nelly Furtado/Fefe Dobson) and John Forbes (Phase One & Chalawa Studios).
