OSA hosting Live Your Goals event Friday August 1: Today there are 29 million women and girls playing soccer worldwide. And there are 125,000 girls under the age of 20 playing soccer in Ontario

The last of four FIFA "Live Your Goals" events in Canada, as part of the lead-up to the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Canada 2014, will take place Friday, August 1 at Esther Shiner Stadium in Toronto.
FIFA’s “Live Your Goals” campaign is one of the organization’s most recognized initiatives in women’s soccer. The campaign features female players around the world who are living their dreams by playing and competing in soccer.
Linked to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014, the “Live Your Goals” festivals target young girls across Canada and involves clubs, schools and soccer communities.
Hosted and run by the Ontario Soccer Association’s Grassroots department and the OSA's Female Mentorship Program, in conjunction with the Canadian Soccer Association and FIFA, Friday’s event will have a variety of activities.
Participating girls will have a chance to play small-sided soccer games, meet Canadian soccer stars Josée Belanger and Melanie Booth, take part in skills challenges and have a closer look at the Trophy of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Kara Lang, official ambassador for the FIFA Women's World Cup, will also be in attendance to meet with fans.
Montréal (Laval), Moncton and Edmonton have already hosted “Live Your Goals” events and several other FIFA member associations have been involved with the program including Moldova, Estonia, Costa Rica and Paraguay.
Today there are 29 million women and girls playing soccer worldwide. And there are 125,000 girls under the age of 20 playing soccer in Ontario. Participants in Friday's event hail from the Toronto Soccer Association, the North York Soccer Association and the Scarborough Soccer Association.
