FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 Live Your Goals Tour to kick off in Switzerland
Starting with Switzerland on 23 November 2014, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015™ winner’s trophy will set off on a journey to each of the qualified countries as FIFA looks to provide a platform for its member associations to promote both the event and women’s football.
Canada 2015 marks the first time that 24 teams will take part in the showpiece event, which is set to take place across six cities from coast to coast (Edmonton, Moncton, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver and Winnipeg) between 6 June and 5 July.
The newly announced tour is closely linked with Live Your Goals – FIFA’s long-term campaign to support women’s football development – and has therefore been officially named the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 Live Your Goals Tour.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 Winner’s Trophy – which the tournament champions get to keep as a permanent reminder of their achievement – will be presented to the participating teams between November 2014 and March 2015, with each member association being responsible for proposing activities around the tour such as Live Your Goals festivals, workshops, stakeholder engagement events and media opportunities, including pictures with the trophy.
“This tour is a fantastic opportunity to drive international awareness about the FIFA Women’s World Cup while also underlining the commitment of FIFA to support its member associations in promoting and growing the women’s game,” commented Tatjana Haenni, FIFA Deputy Director of the Competitions Division and Head of Women’s Competitions.

Donnelly, Morneau to be inducted in Canada's The Soccer Hall of Fame
Former FIFA Women's World Cup participants Geri Donnelly and Isabelle Morneau will be inducted in Canada's The Soccer Hall of Fame this Sunday 9 November. The former international players are both part of the Class of 2004.
In Donnelly, the Hall will welcome one of Canada's early legends, a player who two years ago was honoured as part of the All-Time Canada XI women's team during Canada Soccer's Centennial Celebration. She made a then-Canadian record 71 international appearances from 1986 to 1999, including participating at two FIFA Women's World Cups (Sweden 1995 and USA 1999).
Donnelly is both a CONCACAF champion and Jubilee Trophy winner, as well as a two-time Canadian Player of the Year (an award that was only introduced in the last six years of her international career). She played club football with Surrey United SC until 2009, thus is only eligible for Hall of Fame induction for the first time this year (five years after retirement).
As for Morneau, she was one of four players to participate in Canada's first three trips to the FIFA Women's World Cup (Sweden 1995, USA 1999 and USA 2003). A CONCACAF champion in 1998, she helped Canada finish fourth at USA 2003. In all, she made 87 appearances for Canada from 1995 to 2006.

The Canadian Women’s National Team is set to face Sweden for two International Friendly Matches in Los Angeles, CA, USA on 24 and 26 November 2014 (kick off times and venues to be determined).
The two closed-door matches are part of Canada’s continued preparation towards next summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015TM when Canada will host the world in the largest FIFA Women’s World Cup to date, featuring 24 nations.
Sweden secured its spot for the competition in late September after a hard-fought qualifying nettle with Scotland.
Canada’s last encounter with Sweden was at the London 2012 Women’s Olympic Football Tournament when a last minute two-goal comeback draw got Canada through to the quarter-final stage of the tournament, subsequently going on to capture a bronze medal and the hearts of millions of Canadians.
The two matches will be closed to the public but fans will be able to follow the match live on Twitter @CanadaSoccerEN.
