And we’re back in action! No changes in the 22 players on the pitch, but the scenery is definitely changing: a beautiful Rennes sunset can be seen through the windows of Roazhon Park. A great scene for another 45 minutes of great football!

A different perspective on that Hasegawa finish. Remarkably, it's the first goal scored in that net at France 2019 - in the sixth game in the stadium!

Clinical!
A great team move, and a perfect finish from the Japan No14. She's set up a fascinating second half.

And that’s our first 45 of the evening! The Oranjeleeuwinnen started strong, and got the goal that put them ahead through a beautiful back-heeled flick by Lieke Martens. But getting closer to half-time, the Japanese team got their grip back on the match, which resulted in the Yui Hasegawa leveller just before the interval. It’s definitely far from over in Rennes. The second half is set to be an interesting one…

After conceding from a corner kick - from a wide area - Japan were then able to better cope with the opponent's width in attack. The primary issue is the counter attack when the Nadeshiko lose the ball. At the end of the first half, the off-the-ball movement improved. That's where the equaliser came from. Japan need to keep believing and find that one goal to go ahead.

Ayaka YAMASHITA (Japan) pulls off a save.
Almost an instant reply! The Japan 'keeper makes a solid stop from hotshot Vivianne Miedema after the No9 finds a bit of space inside the Japanese penalty area. We have a game on our hands in Rennes!

Yui HASEGAWA (Japan) scores!!
And they're level! After a period of play which saw both sides exchange possession and apply pressure to each other, the Japanese equalise through a wonderful piece of interplay. Working the ball infield from the Japanese left, Mana Iwabuchi finds half-a-yard of space and plays a superb through ball into the Japan No14. She opens her body and finishes clinically past Sari van Veenendaal.
