The festive event "1000 days until the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia" was held in Nizhny Novgorod on the main street. The kids launched 1000 baloons and it was the starting point until the tournament.
Local music bands, dance groups, DJ's participated in the concert. Viewers saw the special football skills show from the world-record holder, played football in the 2x2 format on special pitch, viewers participated in the campaign "I paint football". During the day the event was attended by several thousand people.
In addition, the citizens of Nizhny Novgorod made photos with special signage in the form of hashtags #Nizhny2018 and others. In the future, all photos will be compiled in collage and posted on the banner on the one of the projects under construction of the tournament. Note that this action was held for a week at universities of Nizhny Novgorod, it was attended by about 500 students. Some bus shelters of the city have been specially decorated. There was created area for photos that will allow for each citizen of Nizhny Novgorod to be a part of the tournament.
