'Zlatan, I want to say congratulations,' Beckham said in a video shared by LA Galaxy on Twitter.
'500
goals. What a career, what a player, what an achievement. Pleasure to
play with you and against you. Pleasure to be your friend.
'500 goals… that makes you really, really old. But on a serious note, congratulations mate.
'One thing you need to work on. You're a little bit shy. So, work on it. You'll get better. Congratulations mate. Incredible.'
It
was the veteran striker's 17th goal in 22 games since moving to the MLS
after being allowed to leave Manchester United before his contract was
up last season.
Beckham, who played with Ibrahimovic at PSG, said: '500 goals! That makes you really old'
Beckham told Ibrahimovic to work on his shyness, to which he replied: 'I definitely need to'
In response to Beckham's message, Ibrahimovic tweeted: 'My friend! Thank you very much. I agree with you, i'm old.'
'Will work on my shy side, I definitely need to improve on that.'
Beckham
wasn't the only footballing star to send their congratulations to the
striker, with former United team-mate Paul Pogba also posting a message
on his Instagram story, while wearing an LA Galaxy shirt.
'Zlatan, I don't know if I have to say the lion, the cat, the dog, I don't know,' he said.
'No Zlatan, respect, respect.'
'I
tell you to play football but you watch too much Jackie Chan, Jet Li,
Bruce Lee and try to kick the ball [like a] scorpion, whatever. But that
was a nice goal.'
