Gwyneth Paltrow Vanity Fair Article to Investigate Possible Affair, Kate Middleton Plays Volleyball Three Months After Giving Birth: Top Stories

Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly up in arms about an unflattering Vanity Fair profile.“Vanity Fair is threatening to put me on the cover of their magazine,” the 41-year-old actress allegedly said in an email to friends several months ago. “If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again.” Paltrow refused to be interviewed for the article when she heard that it would focus on her declining celebrity status, the end of her friendship with Madonna and other negative details. Though it's yet to be published, the New York Post claimed Friday that Paltrow's ire over the piece has to do with its supposed investigation of her relationship with Miami billionaire Jeff Soffer:
Now we’re told that researchers on the story by top VF writer Vanessa Grigoriadis have been asking Miami society sources questions about Paltrow and Soffer, who is considered Miami royalty, owns the lavish Fontainebleau Hotel and recently married Elle Macpherson.
Paltrow's rep adamantly denied the allegations in a statement to the Daily Mail, saying that Soffer offered her -- and many other friends -- a flight to Miami. "It's completely false. Jeff is a longtime friend of Gwyneth's and there was no romantic relationship with him at all, He flew many of his friends to Miami that weekend - not just Gwyneth," the rep said.Despite Paltrow's objections to the story, Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter said he would publish Vanessa Grigoriadis' piece -- warts and all. "We started a story on her. We have a very good writer and it'll run," Carter told London's Times Magazine (via E! news) on Sunday. "Well, she sort of forced my hand."

Media expert claims actress is 'not doing herself any favours by being too controlling' over damning feature
Gwyneth Paltrow attempted to brush off the controversy surrounding the imminent publication of a 'damning' feature about her in Vanity Fair magazine as she headed out for dinner on Sunday night.
The 41-year-old actress kept her head down but appeared in good spirits as she grabbed some food at the Japanese restaurant Hakkasan in London's Mayfair.
Gwyneth's outing came after a media expert slammed the actress for being too 'controlling' in her attempts to stop editor Graydon Carter's publication of the 'epic takedown'.

Brand strategist Linda Ong is quoted as telling The Wrap of Gwyneth's actions: 'She’s not doing herself any favours by trying to be very controlling and perfect in an era when there’s post-economic collapse, it’s widely acknowledged that nobody’s perfect and that there’s no such thing as control.
'It just seems out of touch.'

Mother to Apple, eight, and Moses, seven, Gwyneth is said to be extremely protective of her personal life.

She was furious when she heard of the Vanity Fair report, and emailed pals, telling them: 'If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline.'

Soffer was reportedly 'closed off in a private section' with Gwyneth, clad in a little white dress, when she attended the lavish re-opening of his Miami hotel the Fontainebleau in 2008.
He then reportedly gave Gwyneth a private tour of the hotel, whisking her away in his Bentley, and the following day, she joined him on his yacht with Kate Hudson.

Gwyneth has been married to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin since 2003 and last month gave surprising comments in an interview where she revealed she would like to be forgiving if Chris cheated, seeming to insinuate that she would be open-minded about infidelity.
She told Refinery29.com: 'I'm an extremely open-minded person, so I think if it was something I knew I was getting myself into, I wouldn't let it deter me from exploring the relationship.'
While in another interview, she added: 'I am a great romantic — but I also think you can be a romantic and a realist.
'Life is complicated and long and I know people that I respect and admire and look up to who have had extramarital affairs. It's like we're flawed — we're human beings and sometimes you make choices that other people are going to judge.
'That's their problem but I really think that the more I live my life the more I learn not to judge people for what they do.'
But she insisted her marriage to Chris was secure.
