Canadian Music Week 2012: TREBLE CHARGER ANNOUNCED AS INDUCTEES FOR THE 2012 SIRIUSXM INDIES HALL OF FAME

Saturday, March 24th at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto

TORONTO - February 2, 2012 - Iconic Canadian pop-rock group, Treble Charger, will be inducted into the SiriusXM Indies Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel as part of the 12th Annual SiriusXM Independent Music Awards ("The SiriusXM Indies") at Canadian Music Week (CMW). The awards acknowledge, promote and honour achievements of Canadian and international artists in the independent music sector.

Since forming in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario more than 20 years ago, Treble Charger has established itself as a mainstay of Canada's power-pop sound.  Their debut full length album, nc-17, released in 1994 became Canada's best-selling indie record at the time and brought them commercial attention through airplay on MuchMusic and college radio throughout the country. With an intuitive sense of technology and camaraderie in their community, Treble Charger released their follow-up self-titled EP with an accompanying CD-ROM zine featuring 30 of its favourite Canadian indie bands.

With each subsequent album, Treble Charger refined its cutting-edge sound and delivered singles worthy of multiple JUNO Awards nominations including Best Rock Album, Best Single, and Best Alternative Album throughout the late '90s and early 2000s. Their albums Maybe It's Me and Detox have both been certified gold by CRIA while Wide Awake Bored went platinum on the strength of lead single "American Psycho" and consistent touring.

Treble Charger's energetic performances have fueled audiences around the world, touring with the likes of Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins and Our Lady Peace. Despite several personnel changes within the group, the band proved its versatility by continuously pumping out new music that its audience wanted to hear. After various side projects and breaks the band officially disbanded in February of 2006.

After almost a decade apart, founding members Greig Nori and Bill Priddle will reunite for the induction to bring back such hits as "American Psycho" and "Red" - two of the band's signature tracks.

Tickets for the SiriusXM Indie Awards are on sale now for $39.50 plus taxes through all Ticketmaster outlets, Rotate This, and Soundscapes, as well as online at www.ticketmaster.ca. Ticket buyers may also call 1-855-985-5000 to charge by phone.

In addition to this presentation, the 2012 SiriusXM Indie Awards will honour the achievements of 140 deserving artists across 28 categories when nominations are announced later this month.

SLACKER CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK
Newly Added Celerity Interview and Keynote Speaker
JEFF BECK - HARVEY GOLDSMITH

*******

SLACKER CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK Welcomes
One of ROCK'S most influential guitarists JEFF BECK

CMW is pleased to welcome guitar legend Jeff Beck in an exclusive one-on-one celebrity interview at Slacker Canadian Music Week on Friday, March 23 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Delegates will have a chance to look into the career of a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer as Beck shares his memoirs and reflects on his longevity in the music business.  On Thursday, March 22, the evening before his appearance, Beck will be taking the stage for a show-stopping performance open to the general public at The Phoenix Concert Theatre.

A groundbreaking artist, Jeff Beck's inimitable combination of primal shredding and cool perfectionism has left an indelible mark on everything from hard rock and jazz fusion to rockabilly and techno in a remarkable career that has spanned almost half a century.  His talents are infamous with such acts as The Yardbirds (with Eric Clapton), The Jeff Beck Group (with Rod Stewart and Ron Wood), and Beck, Bogert and Appice (with Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice).

An eight-time Grammy Award winner, Beck's live shows and virtuoso solos are legendary, while his playing style continues to reflect the diversity that is his trademark.  His last studio album Emotion & Commotion, released in April 2010, received two Grammys - one for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for "Hammerhead" and one for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for "Nessun Dorma" - marking only the second time an artist has won in both of these categories in the same year. Beck's newest offering, Rock `N' Roll Party Honoring Les Paul, has been nominated for a 2012 Grammy Award in the category of Best Rock Album.

2011 saw Beck receive two honorary degrees from British universities - the first an Honorary Fellow from the University of the Arts of London in recognition of his "outstanding contribution to the field of Music" and the second a Doctor of Music from the University of Sussex.

To participate in this exceptional opportunity, visit www.cmw.net to register as a delegate or purchase a limited ticket to this individual event.

RENOWNED ROCK IMPRESSARIO HARVEY GOLDSMITH
TO SPEAK AT SLACKER CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK

Legendary UK promoter and visionary Harvey Goldsmith will participate as a keynote speaker at Slacker Canadian Music Week 2012.  The live event mogul will speak on Friday, March 23 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel as part of the event's 30th anniversary celebrations.

Harvey Goldsmith began his career in 1966, and since then has been awarded numerous times for his outstanding contributions to the music and live event industry. His dossier reads like an encyclopedia of stars, working with some of the world's biggest names in music, including The Rolling Stones, Queen, The Eagles, Bob Dylan, U2, Jeff Beck, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, The Bee Gees, Oasis, Diana Ross, Coldplay, Pink Floyd, Luciano Pavarotti and Elton John.

Harvey's passion for charitable contributions turned 1985's Live Aid and 1978's The Concert for Kampuchea into historic events raising millions to benefit victims of terror and famine. He was the mastermind and producer that brought us Led Zeppelin's reunion show in 2007 at London's O2 Arena.

In 2008 Harvey took over the management of legendary guitarist Jeff Beck.

In April 2010 Goldsmith was presented with the International Music Person of The Year award to commemorate his outstanding contributions to the Music Industry at the MUSEXPO by the City of West Hollywood. The following year, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Ravensbourne in recognition of his contribution to the institution's musical education and presented with The Freedom of The City by The Lord Mayor of London.

Goldsmith is currently the Chairman of experiential marketing company Ignite - an industry leader in brand activations at events all over the globe. The 2009 winner of the Best Targeted Brand Experience award, the agency has escalated to new heights throughout 2011 and into the New Year under his lead and Harvey was named as the Event 100 Club's most influential person in the Events business in December 2011.

To hear Goldsmithís insights into what it takes to be a prominent producer and concert promoter, visit www.cmw.net to register as a delegate.
