Roddick-Ferrer match moved to Court 13
Thursday, September 8, 2011
Weather conditions caused the fourth-round clash between Andy Roddick and David Ferrer to be suspended after four games yesterday, and now court conditions this morning have caused the match to be suspended once again after just two games of play.
A spot two feet behind the baseline in Louis Armstrong Stadium had a hairline crack, where water beneath the surface was coming up onto the court. After consulting with tournament officials, Roddick and Ferrer walked off court while tournament officials immediately went to work on repairing the troubled spot.
The match has resumed on Court 13.
